Sly Jack Bell

Sly Jack Bell

He never would tell

Who ate all the cookies and bit the cake

Had taken so long for the baker to bake

And not just for some little boy to take!

Sly Jack Bell

He never would tell

Crossed his fingers behind his back

Wouldn't even agree that his name was Jack

Said, What you don't have, you can't really lack!

Sly Jack Bell

Sleepy-Head

Monsters in the night?

Just turn on the light.

They're gone – you see?  Not there!

What?  You heard a sound somewhere?

No, I won't look under your bed.

You just go to sleep, sleepy-head.

And A Little Mouse

Spider spinning in the corner;

Snowflakes trimming windowlace.

Nothing needed to adorn her;

Whiskers twitching on a furry face.

We are three in our little house:

The spider, me, and a little mouse.

This is all my story's beginning;

This is all my story's end.

We are three in our little house:

The spider, me, and a little mouse.
